Candle care
A few simple habits help your candle burn evenly, smell its best and last longer.
The first burn
Let the wax melt right to the edge of the tin or jar before you blow it out. Wax remembers where it stopped, so a short first burn can leave a tunnel down the middle.
Every time you light it
- Trim the wick to about 5mm before each burn.
- Burn for no more than 3 to 4 hours at a time.
- Burn on a heat-safe, level surface. The jar or tin gets hot.
The wax flowers
The wax flowers on top are decorative. Remove any that come close to the flame.
Staying safe
- Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from children, pets, curtains and drafts.
- Stop burning when about 1cm of wax is left.
